As you may have noticed in Jess' Wine and Candy Pairing' post, both Jess and I are huge fans of Halloween. This year, we are fully embracing and indulging in all things Halloween. After many sips and lots of snacking during the tasting we were left with lots of leftover candy!
Naturally, we went straight to Pinterest to find some cute Halloween baking recipes to make use of all the leftover candy and chocolate! It didn't take very much searching to find some simple recipes that incorporated the candy we had.
Of course, there's always the fear that you'll get a Pinterest "fail" and the recipes turn out nothing like the picture; luckily, both turned out amazing! And both were super easy!
The first recipe we made was this Halloween bark from Just a Taste. The chocolate bark turned out super cute and it's fool proof. It's literally just melting chocolate, pushing whatever leftover candy you have into it, and then setting in the fridge for 1 hour. This would be such an easy last minute treat to make if you were having a Halloween party or if you wanted to take some treats in for your co-workers.
3 cups bittersweet chocolate chips
2 cups assorted candy, cut into bite size pieces
My favorite part about the bark are these sweet little eye candies from Betty Crocker. Most grocery stores stock these this time of year. You can find so many other cute recipes on Pinterest that use these candies.
The second recipe we tried had us use of all the leftover Reese's Pieces candy we had from the Cabernet Sauvignon pairing. These turned out so good and were absolutely delicious! It tastes like a cross between a peanut butter cookie and a chocolate chip cookie - who wouldn't love that?
This Reese's Peanut Butter Pudding Cookie recipe was taking from the blog Inside BruCrew Life. I will definitely be trying more of her recipes because these were super easy to make.
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 - 3.4 box instant vanilla pudding
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup mini Reese's Pieces, divided
