We Stayed: The Luxus
Sometimes you just need to put on a new outfit, your favourite heels and have a fancy night out. Lauren and I did just that when we recently stayed at The Luxus Boutique Hotel in downtown St.John's. The hotel itself is absolutely dreamy and we were pretty close to not leaving our room at all (seriously, the beds are just too big and comfy).
We quickly adopted our new surroundings and did our best to embrace this lavish life we'd only ever dreamed about. Sipping wine and reading magazines in soft robes, gliding around our walk-in closet in new slippers and pouring bath salts into a running soaker tub.
With all of our white robe selfies complete and our first bottle of wine drank, our dancing playlist went on and we began preparing for our 5-star night in St.John's.
Once our outfits were settled, we took a quick trip across the street to the well-awarded restaurant, Raymonds, for cocktails and dinner. Of course, this is a meal that you just can't beat! Every visit is an experience in which you are treated to impeccable service on top of a perfect meal. After our 5 course meal setting, both our bellies and hearts were full. We skipped back across the street to our gorgeous hotel just in time for a pre-closing drink at The Luxus Lounge. Its luxurious and modern interior lends perfectly to the feel of the entire boutique hotel. We asked the well-dressed bartender for whatever he recommended, and he delivered! Their cocktails are completely made by hand with as much local ingredients as possible. As he squeezed fresh lime juice into the shaker, I knew I was in for a treat!
As we took the last sips from our cocktails, we thanked the bartender and headed back up to our third floor suite overlooking the narrows. With a final wine night cap we burrowed into our comfy beds for the evening and said goodnight.
As the sun rose over the city, Lauren flicked the bedside switch to open the blinds and our morning began. I climbed down from my bed and made my way into the bathroom. Greeted by the heated tile floor, I ran the 4-head shower and eagerly awaited the coffee Lauren was making us. Really, it's hard not to feel like royalty when you're staying at The Luxus.
We sipped our coffees, nibbled on the sweet breakfast from their breakfast bar and watched the city wake up below us. It was hard to say goodbye to this luxury life, but we'll be back.
