We Wore: Wildhood Clothing
Jess and I love supporting local brands and businesses. We both have worked for local entrepreneurs in the past and understand all of the hard work that goes into it. So when the local brand, Wildhood Clothing, set up shop on Water Street we had to check it out!
Wildhood started exclusively online, selling their tees, tanks, and hoodies. The owner, Abu Sayed, immigrated here from Bangladesh in 2013 and has brought the quality of the clothing produced in his home back to Newfoundland. Abu wasn't always working in the clothing industry but when he came to Newfoundland, he was inspired by the wilderness and sense of freedom, and so he created the designs for his brand "Wildhood".
At Wildhood, they aim to create a high quality product but also keep their values close to heart - diversity, sustainability, and fair trade. They support a number of local charities and often donate a portion of their sales to causes that are important to them; like the Newfoundland Candlelighters.
After a little shopping, we had to go on an adventure in our newly chosen tees and embrace what the brand is all about! We drove about an hour outside St.John's to Mahers for an afternoon of canoeing and campfires.
We loved the look and feel of our t-shirts. They're super soft and long enough to come down over your bum - which we loved with leggings! I chose the "Free-to-Explore" basic tee and Jess went with the "Elegant Logo" tail tee. Both are available in store and here on their website in a number of different colours.
